Welcome to the World of Goo Community Wiki!

The goal of this wiki is to collect information on the game World of Goo by and for users. It is not meant primarily as a forum for discussion of the game; for that purpose, the 2D Boy forum is more suitable. The only project so far is the translation of World of Goo in various languages.

NOTICE As of 21 December, 2009, the Wiki can again be edited by anonymous users, but placing external links and creating user accounts requires solving a CAPTCHA. The purpose of this is to deter spammers. -Maks.

Translations

Translations of the game are created by voluntueers. Below are a list of available translations; feel free to edit these pages if you feel you can improve them (but please try to take the context into account, and ensure that texts fit on images and in dialog screens). For help on editing text in a wiki, have a look at the MediaWiki Handbook on editing, or experiment on the Sandbox page!

If you want to start a new translation for a language which does not yet exist, simply copy the contents of the translation template to a new page named "Language translation" and add a link to it here. You do not need to ask for permission to do this.

If you contribute more than a few lines and like to be credited for your contribution, please add your (real) name to the contributors section on the translation page of your language (with a link to your wiki user, if you have one). (See Dutch_translation#Contributors for an example.)

Downloading translations

Translations can be downloaded for PC or Mac in a game-compatible file here:

Download a text.xml.bin file suitable for your platform and place it in the properties subdirectory of the game installation directory. Please note that many non-Western languages require customized fonts to be installed too; see the specific translation page for your language for details.

Nearing Completion

These translations are mostly done; candidates for inclusion in a release. Feel free to move a translation here if it is mostly done (rule of thumb: over 90% of the text is translated and most grammar, spelling and style errors have been resolved).
